Have you ever received news that knocked you out so bad that it took years to recover. Not of a loved one passing away but just as bad.
I got news when I was younger that knocked me down and out. I was completely devastated. The tears came uncontrollably for a very long time. People saw me and knew immediately that something went terribly wrong. My eyes were swollen and red for a while. It's the kind of thing that takes years to come to grips with, even though some people never do. This was almost forty years ago.
The Lord just showed me exactly what he spared me from by blocking what could have prevented me from having a relationship with him. After all this time it's clear as day. It was by divine intervention that what I thought I needed, what I felt I had a right to, was suddenly taken from me. I didn't see it coming. God who knows all things, saw what was ahead and steered my life in the direction that He wanted it to go, for His glory.
While we have the privilege to pray and ask for things we must be mindful that God knows what's best for all of us. We must remember to pray according to His will not ours. Had He not snatched me from the grasp of the enemy, literally, where would I be today! What a mighty God we serve! I didn't know until now that I needed to thank Him for what happened. It was to save me just as He promised. To Him be glory now and always!
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
