Eye Of The Storm

While the eyewall and outer bands of a hurricane can cause destruction the center is always calm and clear. It's amazing when you think about it because the same system that is reeking havoc has an area where absolutely nothing is happening, undisturbed by what is happening around it.

So it is when we trust God to do exactly what He says He'll do concerning us. We can rest in the eye of any storm because we serve a God who promises to always be with us. As Christians we go through various trials and tribulations. The word of God tells us that when we are facing these situations we are not to carry these burdens on our own. We are to cast them on Jesus, 1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55: 22.  Whatever we face is no surprise to Him. He's all knowing! He is able to do way more than we can ask or think. Ephesians 3:20.  He's all powerful!

I mentioned in a previous post about an ongoing issue at work. I wanted to add that I eventually lost the job. While the news caught me off guard, a feeling of peace came over me as I was on my way home. Now I'm out of work. What usually follows is worrying about falling behind with financial responsibilities. However this is when faith needs to be exercised.

The Lord did not allow me to worry one bit about anything. I've done so much while not working. I've been able to attend a day time service once per week, which is something I've always wanted to do. I joined an early morning prayer meeting, which has been a blessing. I was able to keep my doctors appointments without being penalized for doing so. I did a lot of sewing, making purses and totes and was happy the Lord made me available to support a sister in Christ as she goes through a different kind of  storm.

While I was doing all of this the Lord was working on where He wants me to work next. I received a call about a job that I had applied to a few months ago. An interview was set up and I was offered the position. All glory be to God for His mercies. He has been faithful, taking care of all my needs, so much so that it brought me to tears. He overwhelmed me with blessings. My cup literally runs over. We must stand on the Lord's promises.

Our circumstances do not diminish God's faithfulness. He is always working things out for our good. He will come through just as he has done time after time.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
