Spiritual Food

My favorite part of going to church is to hear the message. My ears and heart are always ready for what the Lord has to say to me. Surely lifting my hands in sincere worship is equally important but there's something about hearing a sermon and knowing God is speaking directly to us through His servants.

I've just been so grateful for the moulding and spiritual growth even during times of correction. It's really vital for our Christian walk to have people who help to draw us closer to the Lord rather than seek to draw attention to themselves. If I read my bible and didn't fully grasp what I should have from a verse, I can be sure that the Lord will make it clear through the speaker. If I'm facing a situation, I'm certain to hear the Lord speaking to me about it through them.

I feel so blessed and nourished through so many sermons I've heard, words of encouragement I've read, daily devotionals I've listened to, reading His holy scriptures and everything else that He has directed me to for edification. Some sermons are the very topic I was just reading or writing about which is confirmation as to what the Lord is saying to me and through me when preparing a post for this blog.

One Sunday I was on my way to church and became very anxious and distressed because of a situation during  the commute. As I was walking into the sanctuary I could see the senior pastor walking towards the microphone. He said He felt led to pause the worship service and to pray for everyone who may be having anxiety attacks, panic attacks etc.  The sanctuary is huge and I always sit up in the balcony so he couldn't have seen how distressed I was walking in. That was the Lord letting me know He is with me through it all.

I must give God the glory for where He has placed me to gather with fellow believers. Every single sermon has been a blessing and it doesn't matter who the speaker is. Whether it's short messages at prayer meetings or other weekly meetings, God has truly been speaking through His servants.  May He perfect everything concerning all of them and continue to use them for His glory. May hearts continue to be blessed, souls be saved and His name be glorified.

as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
