The Lord has been speaking through His servants concerning this and I'm constantly being reminded that this is a priority for me as a believer. If we are not careful we will allow the things we have grown comfortable doing to rob us of the kind of relationship we need to have with our Saviour.
Doing what the Lord has called us to do does not equate to spending time with Him. This is also not time spent while we're at church. We're talking about getting alone in His presence with no distractions. No cell phones, no tiktok and Instagram even if you're posting scriptures or sharing sermons.
When we love someone, we want to be with them, we enjoy their company. We make time without even thinking about it to be where they are. They are more than just an acquaintance to us. We don't give them just a fraction of our time. That would not satisfy them or us. We spend quality time with them. If for any reason we are apart from them for too long, we begin to miss them and a feeling of longing sets in. We can't wait to be with them again.
we spend hours doing things that we love. From binge watching our favorite TV shows to scrolling through our phones. We get excited to get to those things. Shouldn't we be excited to get back to being in the Lord's presence instead. Surely there are shows that we can watch which will cause us to think about the things of the Lord. There are also encouraging videos and other faith-based content out there. The Lord speaks to us in many different ways but while all of that has their place we should long to return to Him.
Think of how much our heavenly Father loves us. Let's wait in His presence with thankful hearts for all that He has done and all that He is to us?

“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word
