Where Should We Begin

Everyone's testimony of coming to know Christ is not the same. Some decide to dive into the Bible to understand what it is saying to them before getting baptized. I remember my own experiences reading the Bible. There were times while I was reading when I had to pause and put it down because I couldn't believe what I was reading.

Just imagine reading the Bible for the first time from the Old Testament in the book of Genesis. There's a lot one wouldn't be able to wrap their head around and would question why they should become a Christian. By the time you get to verse 26 of Genesis chapter one, you will be asking yourself, who is the "us" God is referring to? He is by Himself, He just created the heavens and the earth and now He is saying, "let us make man in our image." That is a fair question.

When we read John 1 in the New Testament we get to  understand that God was not by Himself in the beginning. "He was with the Word (Jesus) but the Word was also Him."

God is not man! He is Supernatural! He is three in one and everything else that He is! If you're not a believer you may be asking yourself right now, "so now it's three? Who is the third along with the Word and God?" That is another fair question. The third would be God's Holy Spirit. I John 5:7 says "For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one."

We must be mindful that it's possible that some of the unsaved reading the Bible are actually searching for the truth. We know there are others trying to discredit the word of God by finding issues with how things are worded and tear apart anything that they see an issue with, right down to the grammar used, and punctuation marks like they are in an English Language class.

Please understand that the Bible does not have to be in perfectly worded English to be correct. It does not need to be properly punctuated and eloquently written either. The people God used were not scholars and best selling authors. The word of God is powerful because it's from Him!

We must remember to pray for those seeking after the truth of Jesus. He Himself is working in their hearts, guiding them to Him.

When the unsaved is guided to read the Bible from John 1. They learn from there that Jesus died for all of us. Once they invite Him into their lives and the Holy Spirit begins to work, then overtime they will be able to understand the things of the Old Testament, what happened before Jesus came and how everything applies to our lives.

John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
