In Mark 5:28 the woman with the issue of blood told herself that if she was only able to touch the clothing of Jesus she would be made well. That was exactly what happened. She must have been calling on Jesus before she even got to where He was and touched His clothing. She had a problem that she knew only He could solve.
She had tried everything else. Mark:26 says she had spent all she had on many physicians but her situation was getting worse. She heard about Jesus and sought after Him. She must have heard and seen what He had done in the lives of others. He performed a number of miracles so His fame was spreading. The obstacle, which was the multitude, didn't deter her. She did not doubt when she saw that the crowd was too much and that she may not be able to speak to Him. She pressed on in faith believing that if she were only able to touch the hem of His clothing, she would be healed.
It has been my experience that when you call on Jesus, He hears! Mark 29 says that immediately the woman was healed.
It goes on to say that Jesus knew at that moment that power had gone out from Him and He turned around and asked who touched Him. Keep in mind that there was a multitude, so there were a lot of people coming into contact with Him. That touch was not just any touch, that was faith reaching towards Jesus and that is magnetic! See also Matthew 8:5 -11 when Jesus healed the centurion's servant. It was not even the servant who was sick that was exercising his faith, it was the person calling on Jesus on his behalf. ( Prayer is powerful)
I have been calling on the name of Jesus since I was a child. Something must have stuck with me during my time in Sunday school because I believed when I was taught about an all powerful God. A God that knew my thoughts and that was in control of everything.
I also read about Jesus and all the miracles He performed when He walked the earth. I have been a firm believer in miracles since then. I have been the undeserving recipient of a number of miracles. (Thank God for His mercies.)
I believe and declare that there is nothing that can go wrong with man that Jesus cannot fix. Nothing at all! His word tells us this. Our situations not changing when we want them to, does not mean our prayers are not heard.
God has a perfect plan for our lives and He is working things out for our good. This means that while we at times go through difficulties, there is a purpose for all of it. His will not ours! This does not mean we should call on Him any less. When we continue to take our cares and burdens to Him with the understanding that He knows what's best for us, things begin to align themselves in a way where we will have peace through each battle we face.
When an unbeliever begins to seek Jesus, it's an amazing thing. A lost soul is in the process of becoming transformed. There's a feeling of peace during this change. The light of Jesus begins to shine through. The burdens of life start to get lighter because they understand they are not alone. They have a Savior whose mercy and grace are limitless. They can call on Him at any time.
When one calls on the name of Jesus sincerely, things happen!
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
