A friendly Reminder

For a few months now I've been reminded by The Holy Spirit "Do not judge." It's like as soon as my mind starts going in the wrong direction even in just passing someone on the street, my thoughts are interrupted. I'd be walking and repeating to myself, do not judge, do not judge.

Sometimes we look at people and because of their attire or their outward appearance in general, certain thoughts will begin to form. Sometimes we go as far as thinking they don't know The Lord at all. Some may say they are observing, not judging. We may not think we're judging but indeed we are. We expect believers to look a certain way.  Only God knows the heart of a person.

I opened my Bible and was getting ready to read the chapter for the day recently. I noticed there was a guy being featured. Usually I don't do anything else except to read but I was led to listen to what he had to say. I listened and was blessed, and was again reminded not to judge. Now this guy didn't look like a preacher or someone who taught or exalts, ( here goes the judging,) he looked like a regular Danny with his hair braided, and if it was not for the platform that I was seeing him on, he could pass for someone who smokes weed. I spent some time going over why I should not judge and remembering times when people have surprised me when I take the time to listen to them. The Lord has people from all walks of life being His hands and feet and sharing the gospel. John The Baptist was not walking around in fine clothing, nor did David when he was chosen from amongst his brothers. The people God chooses to use are up to Him. He is the one that knows the intent of each of our hearts.

I prayed as I usually do before reading, then scrolled to the top of the chapter and saw, "Judge not that you be not judged." Matthew 7:1. I started crying glorifying and praising God because He has proven over and over again that He exists, Jesus is real and The Holy Spirit lives in us and is guiding us.

Matthew 7:1-2

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
