Spiritual Mindset

In order to keep our minds stayed on a spiritual path we need to be purposeful when it comes to having that kind of mindset. We need to pray for The holy Spirit to take full control of our thoughts and this should be done constantly. If left up to us we could easily drift off to things which will not edify but also thoughts that are outright ungodly. The enemy lay in wait for the opportunity to move in. If we are not careful we may not even realize when and how quickly we drifted. While I'm typing this very post, the enemy is working cunningly to distract me. (Case in point)

When we find ourselves going contrary to the way of The Lord we must act quickly to get back on track with The Holy Spirit. The Spirit Himself is ready to help us with this. We will fall because we are not perfect but we must not remain fallen. We must pick ourselves up by taking our situations to The Lord who will surely help us. We should also be mindful not to pass judgement on others who may be fighting the same battles but instead pray for them to overcome.

Our environment outside of church could easily influence us to take our minds off spiritual things. We however should be doing what we need to in order to stay connected. Praying for the needs of others, giving thanks to God for all that He is to us and listening to praise and worship songs outside of church is very helpful in this regard. The enemy will not want you to even turn the music on because he knows the minute you do, you will begin to actually worship and praise and not just be a listener. Just press play and the Lord will take care of the rest. We know that once we begin to praise and give thanks our troubles begin to shrink. Our focus is now on the only one who is able to help us. Not that we won't still have troubles but we know He has promised us peace during our storms.

 Romans 8:6

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
